The only thing the Crimean authorities need celebrating the Crimean Tatar holiday Hıdrellez is a picture in order to show how loyal the Crimean Tatars are to the Russian Federation and no one cares that the vast majority of the those celebrating are not the Crimean Tatars, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov told about yesterday's celebration in the comments to a QHA correspondent. Ilmi Umerov said that according to the people who are on a pro-government Hıdrellez, the number of those celebrating is bigger than last year.
- Apparently, they have worked on the mistakes and today forced out more people. They decided not to make a bet on the Crimean Tatars and obliged regions and cities to force out all civil servants, state employees, cultural workers and senior school students ..., said Umerov.
The Deputy Chairman went on saying that it does not matter how many people will actually celebrate the holiday, four or five thousand, a little more or less – the “authorities” will still say there were forty thousand as this figure is bigger than last year (reportedly, 35 thousand - Ed.).
- They need a picture in order to show how loyal the Crimean Tatars are to the Russian Federation, and no one cares that the vast majority of those celebrating are not the Crimean Tatars. I won’t comment on the program since it is of no importance for occupants, said Ilmi Umerov.
As QHA reported earlier, the self-proclaimed Crimean authorities decided to force out the Crimean Tatars to celebrate Hıdrellez, which is considered one of the biggest holidays among the Turkic peoples. The corresponding order was put on the Internet.
Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov commented on Hıdrellez celebration organized by the puppet authorities saying the aims of the invaders and a handful of their toadies are obvious - to create a glamorous TV picture showing singing / dancing and chewing people ... and then tell the world what a wonderful life the Crimean Tatars have in Crimea.
Reference. Hıdrellez is a National Holiday of the Crimean Tatars, which has its roots in pagan times. It is is celebrated as the day on which Prophets Hızır and Ilyas met on the earth. The rituals have traces of the ancient agricultural tradition. The Turkic peoples considered this day one of the biggest holidays of the year and in the XIX century the celebration lasted three days.
