The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has officially confirmed the introduction of a restricted flight zone over the bridge construction across the Kerch Strait.
“Flights of all aircraft types are prohibited at a height of up to one kilometer. The width of the zone is three kilometers, and the length is the entire length of the bridge," reads the massage.
The Ministry of Transport explained that these restrictions were allegedly introduced in order to protect the facility under the federal law "On transport security", and clarified that the restriction is valid around the clock.
It is further noted that the issue of the zone abolition will be raised only after the completion of the bridge.
Earlier, on August 9, Russia banned the circulation of vessels in the Kerch Strait water area from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on August 9. Yesterday, on August 10, the ban was lifted.
