Evpatoria City Court has found Yuriy Popov, Chairman of the Board at Aviator cooperative, guilty of accepting bribe payment and sentenced him to a 3-year jail term, the Crimean Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

According to the report, Popov received an illicit payment of RUB 20, 000 for issuing forged certificates acknowledging membership in Aviator cooperative and possession of land plots by private individuals.

He was, thereby, found guilty of committing a crime referred to in Section 4 Article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (‘Obtainment of illicit payment through extortion by management personnel of commercial or other organizations’).
