SIMFEROPOL / AQMESCIT(QHA) -

Crimean authorities are planning to resume the work of the medical sobering-up stations, as said in a statement by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimea Mikhail Sheremet on the Crimean government website.

- Indeed, there is such a problem. Over 50% of crimes are committed in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication. The Commission will develop bills and amendments and appeal to the Head of the Republic, federal authorities with a view to the resumption of the sobering-up stations. It is important, to resume the work of these institutions at least partially. I think this will give a huge effect on life and health preservation, as well as it will reduce crime rate and conduce to greater family preservation, said Sheremet at the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Crime Prevention in Crimea.

During the meeting, the members of the commission have been ordered to analyze the situation in cooperation with civil society organizations, including the Crimean Cossacks."

According to Sheremet, the members of the commission shall submit proposals for changes in the federal and republican laws by Nov. 15, 2015.
