Crimean authorities have dropped their own idea on creating tourist police, which collaborators put forward for more than a year. Such law enforcement service was planned to be established in the resort areas of the peninsular, TASS reports.
“We are not ready to introduce such a unit,” Sergei Strelbitsky, Minister of Tourism and Resorts, said. “The creation of tourist police cannot mean that we have solved all the issues related to security.”
According to the official, before establishing such a law enforcement structure, its functions and goals should be determined.
