Crimean peninsula fully switches to Russian ruble on June 1, Crimean Vice-Premier Rustam Temirgaliev announced.

“We plan, that all the shops, drug-stores and petrol stations in Crimea will work in ruble only. Hryvnia will be out of circulation – he said. Crimean entrepreneurs should pay wages in rubles only”- he added.

Temirgaliev also noted this will not cause any problems for Crimean economy, as preparations for this scenario had been made, adding that Crimean citizens will be allowed to exchange the hryvnia at the Russian Central Bank's exchange rate for an unlimited period of time with their bank of choice.
