Crimean League of Muslim Women "Insaf" called on authorities to solve the problems of the ban on pasting pictures in a headscarf in passports and driver's licenses, reports ‘Crimean News’ portal. Representatives of “Insaf” organization said at a press conference in Simferopol that Ukrainian and Crimean Muslim women face a ban of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to paste pictures of women wearing a headscarf into the documents. Officials refer to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and verbal orders of higher authorities. “We claim that this order is not a law of Ukraine and cannot limit the right of religious freedom. There is no such law that bans to practice one’s religion, in particular to wear a headscarf”, said the representatives of the Muslim women’s league.
