(QHA) - Director of Monitoring at the Directorate General of Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe Christos Giakoumopoulos called the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (CPC) one of the best in the Council of Europe member states, reports Ukrinform.
He said this at a news conference on the occasion of the CPC anniversary, according to Kommersant-Ukraine.
"The law is really very good. I can even say that your CPC is one of the most modern and one of the best in the Council of Europe member states," Giakoumopoulos said.
However, he noted that there are some difficulties with practical application of the Code. Also he added that in this matter it is only about the technical issues of the Code: "With such a comprehensive change in the legal field the implementation is always imperfect. But this is more about technical problems."
