Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea (Committee of Muslims of Crimea) urged Crimean authorities to take necessary measures to investigate the missing of people in Crimea and numerous law violations and to prevent the new ones, press service of the administration reports.
“Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea expresses deep concern about the facts of missing of people in Crimea and urge Crimean authorities to take measures on searching those missed and punishing those guilty of lawless activity”- reads the statement.
“In the beginning of March, a Muslim Reshat Ametov was reported missing, his body with 'signs of torture' was found after 2 weeks. According to Ametov’s widow, who left alone with 3 children, criminal investigators give no information clear information on the issue.
In the end of May, 3 Crimea residents, activists of NGO “Ukrainian house” Leonid Korzh, Timur Shaymardanov and Seyran Zinedinov were also reported missing.
In a view of aforesaid, Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea urges to take all the necessary measures to investigate the above-listed incidents and to prevent the new ones”- reads the statement.
“Impunity of such actions may Crimean destroy delicate interethnic and interfaith harmony that had been built in Crimea for 23 years”- the statement adds.
