The Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov informed about another regular case of violation of the indigenous people’s rights by the occupants in Crimea. At the rural festival in Bakhchisaray region, children were forced to wear T-shirts with the image of the Crimean Tatar symbol Tamga inside out.

“Today, the residents of the village Vilino (Alma-Tamak) in Bakhchisaray district celebrated the "Day of the village." A local Crimean Tatar children's dance group "Mercan" took part in the concert program. Director of the local "House of Culture" strictly forbade the children to dance in T-shirts with the emblem of the Crimean Tatars (Tamga). The children danced wearing the T-shirts inside out. Other Crimean Tatars, except for parents of children dancing, did not attend the celebration. And the confused team guide did not know what to do. Advice for the future: Do not participate in the activities of the occupying power, and in this case the dancers should have canceled the performance and left the event,” Umerov wrote on Facebook.
