Yesterday, May 2, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov commented on "celebrations" marking Hıdrellez holiday, due to be held in Crimea today, May 3.
- May 3, 2016 the Russian puppet authorities will celebrate Hıdrellez in temporarily occupied Crimea. Moreover, no one could avoid being given an order on mandatory participation in the "celebration" - neither schools and universities, nor government organizations. Actually, the aims of the invaders and a handful of their toadies are obvious - to create a glamorous TV picture showing singing / dancing and chewing people ... and then tell the world what a wonderful life the Crimean Tatars have in Crimea, Chubarov wrote on Facebook.
The Mejlis Head recalled the discussions over Hıdrellez celebration in April 2014, at the very start of Russia’s occupation of Crimea. According to him, back then they still had an opportunity to freely convene meetings of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People and discuss the most important issues, but a brutal murder of Reshat Ametov had already been committed by the bandits of "the Crimean militia."
Chubarov went on saying that back then the Mejlis members thought that celebration of Hıdrellez - 2014 would help cheer up people, who were depressed and shocked due to the invasion of Russian troops.
- At the same time, some of my Mejlis colleagues, as well as members of the Audit Commission, on the contrary, opposed celebrating the Hıdrellez – 2014. They pointed at a real danger to the lives of tens of thousands of people in conditions of rampant bandits with the "Crimean militia" and said the invaders used the Crimean Tatar holiday exclusively as an opportunity to spread their propaganda.
At long last, a relative compromise was struck: neither Russian flags nor other symbols of the country – invader could be used during Hıdrellez - 2014. However, by the will of Almighty, Hıdrellez – 2014, due to be held on May 3, was cancelled by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People a few hours before its start (on May 2). The decision was immediately announced to all Crimean media.
The main reason for cancellation was an entry ban issued for the leader of the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Dzhemilev. The occupants reported on the ban in the afternoon of May 2 when Dzhemilev arrived from Kiev at the "Sheremetyevo" Airport in Moscow as he was heading for Simferopol, said Refat Chubarov.
The Mejlis Head is sure that the Russian media operates tens of thousands of participants in the first minutes of Hıdrellez. Of course, in reality the number of participants will be far less than that one the occupiers wanted to “prepare in advance.”
Chubarov also suggested that the majority of the Crimean Tatars would ignore the occupiers’ dirty venture and thus will demonstrate once again the unity and loyalty for the sake of the future of the Crimean Tatar people and Crimea, free from Russian invaders.
- The Most High is the highest center of mercy and justice! Inshallah, there will come the time when Crimea will be free from the Russian occupiers and the Crimean Tatar people will celebrate real Hıdrellez, which will bring together thousands of friends from all over the world, said the Mejlis Head.
