A lot of people participated in the release of the Deputy Chairmen of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov, convicted in the occupied Crimea, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov wrote on Facebook.

"A lot of people were engaged in the process of releasing Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem Chiygoz - from the President of Ukraine and the Presidents of other countries, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa aga Dzhemilev and the leadership of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people to relatives and lawyers of political prisoners," he wrote.

Furthermore, Chubarov noted that the release of all political prisoners in the Crimea was and remains one of the main tasks of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people at the stage of the temporary occupation of the Crimea by the Russian Federation.

“We continue to do our best and more, so that the joy of liberation enters every Crimean Tatar family, reigns over the whole Crimea. On behalf of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, I express my sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the release of Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem Chyigoz!” He wrote.

Earlier, the Deputy Chairmen of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov, previously convicted in the occupied Crimea, were transferred to Turkey.
