KYIV (QHA) - Tuesday, January 7, Christmas dinners for homeless and poor persons were held at the premises of the Soborna Gallery and the University of the Kyiv Mohylan Academy in Kyiv, reported, according to Ukrinform. “On the Christmas day, starting with January 7, 1999, Friends of the Saint Giles Community lay the festive table for the poor people of the city and homeless, elderly people, children and the families with scanty means. Hundreds of people in trouble and Kyiv residents join the dinner, who wish to celebrate Christmas in the best way,” organizers of the event noted. To remind, Orthodox Christians in Ukraine and the whole world, residing according to the Julian calendar, mark one of the main church holidays - the birth of Jesus Christ.
