Elmira Ablyalimova, the wife of the Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Ahtem Chiygoz, published her husband’s appeal on her Facebook page. Ahtem Chiygoz expressed gratitude for the support that gives him strength and patience for the struggle.

"Here comes the 18th month of my staying in the remand prison of Simferopol. Many are concerned about my well-being and health ... Of course, every day in isolation becomes more difficult without seeing friends and relatives, without the opportunity to watch the grandchildren growing and not knowing whether I would see my elderly parents again... All these thoughts become unbearably painful!
But the WAY to stop all this is to kneel before cads, scoundrels and corrupted petty little people and change my principles, to disgrace myself and the entire Crimean Tatar people; even a thought about it makes my blood boil!
Support of my people and many others around the world gives me strength and patience.
