OTTAWA (QHA) -

January 4, 2017 Ukrainian Canadian Congress, together with the Canadian company Saravan Logіstics, Canadian non-governmental organizations Ukraine Appeal, GlobalFire, Global Medic and the League of Ukrainian Canadians collected and sent 11 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, consisting of medical equipment and fire-fighting equipment, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The cargo will be transported to hospitals and fire stations in the east of Ukraine, in particular in Mariupol.
The equipment, the Ukrainian community in Canada collected in January 2017, will improve the quality of the first aid care to victims of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as increase the effectiveness of fire fighting.

This is the fourth shipment of humanitarian aid by the above-mentioned patrons.

Earlier, at a meeting of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly on the theme "Strengthening of the coordination of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, the United Nations, including special economic assistance", the representative of Ukraine to the United Nations said that the international community should provide more aid to victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts
