Border guards raised Ukrainian flag on Crimean border

The Ukrainian flag is proudly flying on the administrative border with annexed Crimea.

Soldiers with the Berdyansk border detachment raised the Ukrainian flag in Kherson region on the island of Papanin, near the administrative border with the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, reported Kherson city website.

The action took place on the eve of a professional holiday - the Day of the Border Guard.

- The soldiers of the Genichesk’ Border Guard Service raised the flag to the hymn of Ukraine. The yellow-blue flag is flying 500 meters from Crimea, according to the website.

Reportedly, that border guards reached the island by a service boat.
