One of the least studied and unknown stories is the history of the Crimean Tatar diaspora. We live in it. This is a history of the moments and stories that our ancestors told us in our childhood. This is still unstudied history, which has not become a subject of numerous works. The only sources of information about it are the book by Hakan Kyrylyly "Settlements of the Crimean Tatars and Nogais in Turkey" and some dissertations of young scientists.
For the Crimean Tatar diaspora, the work of Kyrylyly, which took him many years, is one of the most important. This is the first source for those who are engaged in research on this issue. All attempts to arrive at a certain conclusion would be incomplete if one does not read the work itself and does not visit the settlements of the Crimean Tatar diaspora, who adhere to the author's path outlined in the book.
Such is the nature of humans, when moving to a new place and leaving the usual safe environment, it is very difficult for a person to show courage. One feels a certain pressure on the spirit even when leaving home and moving to another district or to another street.
Plenty of examples show a person or a whole group of people who leave their home environment and move to another land. There are many internal and external causes pushing a person to such a move. Among them are climate, hunger, disease, war, occupation, atrocities, genocide and many other reasons that we will not count. They force people to leave the land they got used to, and move to other places where they can feel more secure.
We can say that no person or a whole society can leave their place of habitation unless they meet such serious problems. Such resettlements occurred for good reasons or motives, and were not at all voluntary.
The Crimean Tatar diaspora began its formation precisely due to such compelling reasons.
The occupation of the homeland ended with happy and bright days for the Crimean Tatars who lived before annexation on their land and under their flag in peace, prosperity and security. The oppression and cruelty that began right after annexation, caused the Crimean Tatars to leave their homeland, where they no longer felt secure, and made them move to other places.
And here the humanity has witnessed how the Crimean Tatar diaspora was formed. And in order to understand this diaspora, it is necessary to conduct a serious analysis of its formation process. It did not start with one of our great-grandfathers once announcing:"Let’s pack our suitcases and ride on the road." This was not a voluntary decision. This was a decision, taken under the powerful pressure of the invader. Of course, another reason for this decision was the desire to live in safety.
All those who want to understand the Crimean Tatar diaspora are obliged to carry out an objective and academic analysis of several questions at once: Why and how the diaspora was formed; What processes it has experienced; What do people feel being forced to leave their homeland and their homes of their desire to live in safety; What happens during a forced migration; What the diaspora faced in new places of settlement; What historical and social processes it has experienced; And why the Crimean Tatar diaspora still calls Motherland a "Motherland ".
