(QHA) - The initiative group of aviators “Vatan kanatlary” (Wings of motherland), in the framework of agreement with the State Flight Academy of Ukraine, organized a fundraising campaign for manufacture and delivery to Kirovograd city (Ukraine) where the Academy is situated, a monument to the legendary pilot, twice hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan. “Installation of a monument to the outstanding aviator, our fellow compatriot on the territory of the Academy will not only contribute to patriotic education of young people, but also to further popularization of Amet-Khan Sultan in Ukraine and abroad”, say members of “Vatan kanatlary”. Besides, it was reported that on the eve of the 67th anniversary of the Victory Day, the stele and billboard dedicated to Amet-Khan Sultan were installed at the academy at the expense of aviators. Note: State Flight Academy of Ukraine, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2011, prepares pilots, air traffic controllers and engineers of various specialties for civil aviation not only for Ukraine, but some 30 foreign countries as well.
