Arms dealers from ATO detained in Bukovina

A group of arms traffickers have been detained by the SSU (State Security Service of Ukraine) in Chernivtsi region, reported Sept. 29 the SSU press service.

"Five Bukovina citizens bought weapons from the military in the area of anti-terrorist operation. Then the guns were smuggled to criminals. During the searches two AK (AKC and AK Czech production), seven grenades F-1 and RGD-5, more than two thousand cartridges of different caliber have been seized," said the agency.

The law-breakers were detained just at the start of smuggling operation and held liable for violation.

The smugglers are charged under Sec. 410 (kidnapping, misappropriation, extortion of military weapons, ammunition and taking them through fraud or abuse of authority) and Sec. 263 (illegal handling of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
