September, 13 the so-called Supreme Court of the annexed Crimea is due to consider two appeals by Ilmi Umerov’s defense – against his placement in a psychiatric hospital and the actions of the FSB investigator, Umerov’s daughter reported on Facebook.
It even sounds moronic - a man has been illegally held in a mental hospital for two weeks ... and the so-called "expertise" will be all over by Sept 13, but they will only start considering the appeal ... One can hardly take it in, but for them it is ok ..., Ayshe Umerova commented on the actions of the occupation authorities.
May 19, the occupation authorities accused Umerov of separatist statements during his speech at the ATR TV Channel when the Mejlis Deputy Chairman said "it is necessary to force Russia to pull back from Crimea and Donbas." Following that, the FSB in the Crimea has launched a criminal case against Umerov "on suspicion of incitement to violation of territorial integrity of the Russian Federation."
On August 11, Umerov became unwell during a court hearing in his case. He was hospitalized with a heart attack risk.
On August 18, the FSB illegally transferred the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov from the hospital to a psychiatric clinic. The health of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov – transferred to the Simferopol mental hospital for a compulsory forensic examination - deteriorated sharply on August 21. He lost consciousness, presumably due to the aggravation of hypertensive crisis.
