DNIPRO (QHA) -

A delegation of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, headed by the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Crimean Tatar people Affairs, People's Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev visited the city of Dnipro. During the visit, a meeting was held with the city head of the Dnipro, Boris Filatov, which raised the issue of a mosque that Muslims are trying to regain in the ownership of their spiritual community.

“The mosque must belong to the Muslim community. Consolidating our efforts, we will create the necessary mechanism for the transfer of the building and decide the placement of the children's sports school. There are some suggestions on how to solve this problem. We will appeal to international financial institutions, and the Mejlis has its connections in the world. YetI will disclose all the secrets,” Filatov stated.

The official went on saying that he considers the return of the mosque building to Muslims a restoration of historical justice. According to him, this issue has been considered since 2014.

“In this mosque now there is a sports club. They shoot there, or practice in fencing. Obviously, for our part we will assist in the construction of a sports complex, and then after vacating the premises we will try to restore it and make it one of the attractive places of the city. The city, for its part, will carry out landscaping works and, obviously, there will be a certain part of the land allocated so that it would be something like a museum," Dzhemilev said.

According to him, the main thing is to prevent any disagreements between the faiths.

“Together with us was the Head of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Crimea. And we will do these visits often, so that  eliminate disagreements between representatives of various faiths in our country,” said the leader of the Crimean Tatar people.

Reportedly, in the near future the mayor's office plans to develop a road map for the transfer of the mosque's building. Then the issue should be considered at the session of the City Council.

Also during the visit to the Dnipro the delegation visited the Jewish center "Menora" and the museum of the ATO.

Earlier it was reported that representatives of the Turkish Parliament promised the Crimean Tatars support in the construction of housing for IDPs and attract investment in the construction of the Cathedral Mosque in Kyiv.
