Ancient copy of Quran, published in 1899 was handed over to committee of Muslims of Crimea in Simferopol.

The copy was published by Crimean Tatar intellectual Ismail Gasprinsky in “Terciman” publishing house in Bakhchisaray.

The Holy book experienced World War I, the October Revolution, World War II, Crimean Tatar deportation of 1944, and the Soviet era when religion was officially banned.

The book was returned to Crimea in early 90th. Those, who presented the Koran to committee of Muslims of Crimea wished to remain anonymous.
