Ukrainian film director of Crimean Tatar origin Akhtem Seitablayev recorded a video message to US President Donald Trump.
In his appeal, Seitablayev asks the American leader to use everything possible to help save the Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who is on a hunger strike in a Russian prison.

“I would like to ask for your assistance in the matter of the liberation of Oleg Sentsov and about 70 political prisoners of the Kremlin. Oleg declared an indefinite hunger strike and I know him as a man of the word, and he will really go to the end. Two of his children can remain without a father," Seitablayev said.
On june 1, the Russian journalist went on a hunger strike in support of Oleg Sentsov. Shura Burtin from the Russian Reporter edition said that he could not simply watch Sentsov’s hunger strike.
Burtin cited the example of Oleksandr Kolchenko, who suffers from a lack of weight, but also joined the hunger strike.
QHA reported that Oleg Sentsov started the hunger strike on May 14, demanding that the Russian authorities release 64 Ukrainian political prisoners. On May 29, the Ukrainian filmmaker agreed to supportive therapy. Sentzov’s sister Natalia Kaplan stressed that supportive therapy, is not an exit from the hunger strike.
