Nov 17, Kiev District Court of Simferopol decided to prolong the detention of Ahtem Chiygozu, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, accused in the case of "February 26" until 29 January, reported Ilmi Umer, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis.
- The arguments on the previous investigation are as folllows: if he leaves, he can put pressure on the investigation and witnesses, although the investigation has been completed and currently familiarization with the case materials is under way ... Political show called "February 26" is going on ..., he said.
Reminder: Ahtem Chiygoz was arrested on Jan 29 "on suspicion of organizing and participating in mass disorder" concerning the events of February 26, 2014, when supporters of Ukraine's territorial integrity and activists with the Russian Unity Party held a rally outside the Crimean Parliament.
Chiygozu is being held in custody under the decision by the Kiev District Court of Simferopol.
