The freed Ukrainian political prisoner Gennady Afanasiev commented on the proposal of the MP Nadiya Savchenko concerning swapping of the militants for political prisoners.
Were I in jail and someone came and asked me to release all the terrorists who were killing our heroes in Eastern Ukraine in exchange for all political prisoners - I would have asked for a few more years in prison and to weld up my cell door, Afanasiev wrote on Facebook.
Savchenko proposed to hold direct talks with the "DPR" and "LPR".
Talking about the possible ways to resolve the conflict in Donbas, the MP highlighted the following points: to extend sanctions against Russia, "since this country has not yet realized it needs to pull back from Eastern Ukraine", as well as to directly contact with the "LPR" without the Minsk process, and any other third or fourth parties.
Savchenko says she is ready to personally hold talks with “DPR” and “LPR” leaders as "People's Deputies".
