The campaign in support of the Crimean Tatars' rights took place in Russia in St. Petersburg city, according to the information on Facebook page called "Strategy-18. Petersburg in support of the Crimean Tatars ".
“On June 18, 2017 the action in favour of the Crimean Tatars in the framework of the "Strategy-18" in the format of single pickets was held in St. Petersburg, on Nevsky Prospekt avenue.”
In particular, the participants of the campaign protested against the occupation authorities of the Crimea, and drew attention to rights violations of Crimean Tatars political prisoners.
The protesters wrote the names of Akhtem Chiyhoz, Arsen Dzepparov, and of the other persons involved in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” on their placards.
Earlier, the Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons along with public organizations started work on the bill "On the recognition of persons, deprived of personal freedom for political reasons by decision of the authorities of the Russian Federation, as political prisoners and providing them with state social assistance."
