About 150 Crimean Muslims appealed for Hajj this year

About 150 Crimean Muslims has appealed to Crimean Muftiyat--Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea-- for Hajj (Muslim pilgrimage) to Mekka. There are total of 140 quotas for Crimea residents. All the necessary documents should be submitted till September 5.

After the applications are filed, one-day lecture for those who appealed for Hajj will be conducted in Muftiyat. Muslims will be informed how to perform the Hajj and will be given practical advices for future pilgrims.

Muftiyat annually organizes the Hajj pilgrimage for Crimean Muslims. This year the tour costs USD 2,500.

Note: The Hajj is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca (Saudi Arabia) and the largest gathering of Muslim people in the world every year. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, and a religious duty which must be carried out at least once in lifetime by every adult Muslim who is physically fit, and financially capable of undertaking the journey and supporting his family during his absence.
