Bad weather caused the cancelation of 20 flights to Crimea. Aircrafts flying to Simferopol were forced to make a landing in Sochi and Krasnodar, the press service of the airport reports.
According to the spokeswoman Svetlana Bannikova, the Simferopol Airport has been operating normally for the last 2 days, and the decision to cancel the flights was taken by the air carriers on their own, based on weather conditions.
“The airport operated normally, in the mode of receiving and releasing flight. But such a decision was taken by the pilots themselves. For some reason, 20 arrivals were cancelled on Thursday. So, if they have not arrived they will not depart,” said Svetlana Bannikova.
She also noted that none flight has been cancelled today; the airport is operating normally.
“Now the airport is operating normally, and it’s up to airlines whether to make a landing in our airport, in Sochi or Krasnodar. We have not cancelled any flights today and the schedule has not been changed,” said the spokeswoman.
