TEL AVIV (QHA) -

The world's first "air taxi" will make debut in October 2015 in Tel Aviv. According to Tizhden.ua this “sky car”, designed for four passengers, will magnetically go as far as 6-9 meters above the ground and can travel up to speed of 96 kmph.

The project was developed by the American company, with the support of the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), engaged in the aerospace engineering.

According to experts, the "air taxi" would be a good alternative to public transport. In addition, the mode of transport is cheaper and simpler to build than the subway. The cost of each car is about USD 25-30 thousand dollars, and the Sky Tran system costs about USD 8 million per kilometer. For comparison, the underground system can cost between $ 100 million and $2 billion per kilometer
