NASA launches rocket with Ukrainian engine

After the deferred earlier launch, NASA set a new date: Antares rocket was set off tonight.

October 17, at 03:03 Kyiv time NASA launched the rocket Antares OA-5 with a cargo satellite Cygnus and Ukrainian engine, the agency's website reports.

The launch was broadcasted online.

This is a commercial mission to resupply the International Space Station. Previously the rocket launch was postponed because of the storm.

The basic structure of the first degree of the Antares was design by Yuzhnoye Design Office and made by SE PA Yuzhny Machine-Building Plant named after A. Makarov in cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises "Hartron Arcos" (Kharkov), "Kievpribor" (Kiev), "Hartron-UCOM" (Zaporozhye), as well as "Cezara" and "Rapid" (Chernihiv).
