Kyiv (QHA) - An active rise of demand for IT products in Ukraine led to sharp lack of specialists in this sphere. The Cabinet's information and analytical bulletin reads about this, reports Ukrinform. “According to investigations of the Exploring Ukraine IT Outsourcing Industry 2012, Ukrainian higher educational establishments annually train about 16,000 specialists in the information technologies sphere, but only from 4,000 to 5,000 are then working by their profession. At the same time, the IT specialists are most demanded on the labor market: about five vacancies fall on one specialist in this sphere,” the bulletin informs. In addition, the State Agency for science, innovations and informatization believes that the number of working places in the IT sphere will reach 168,500 by 2015, out of these, 106,000 in the IT export and 62,500 - on the internal market. “In total, in the information technology sphere 350,000 specialists will be involved in Ukraine, out of these, 125,000 in the export segment and 225,000 - on the internal market. The IT services volume will exceed USD 5 billion in 2015,” the analysts prognosticate. At the same time, total number of IT specialists exceeded 215,000 persons at the end of 2012 in Ukraine, out of these, about 25,000 - certified programming specialists, working for exports. As the analysts believe, the growing need in personnel can be ensured not only through boosting of IT specialists training at higher educational establishments, but through raising qualifications of specialists, retraining and receiving second university degree.
