The normalization of relations between Ankara and Moscow will not have negative effect on Ukraine, Turkey's Ambassador to Ukraine Yonet Can Tezel said in his televised interview with Rada TV channel.

The Republic of Turkey, as before, will support the territorial integrity of Ukraine, regardless of the status of its relations with Moscow:

“Turkey will continue to support Ukraine, it is known both in Ukraine and in Russia. There is a rational kernel in economic and political ties of Turkey with Ukraine. Ukraine should be territorially integral democratic country, and everyone knows that we will support the Ukraine's European aspirations.

The Turkish Ambassador also touched upon one more important issue related to the Crimean Tatars, in the context of Turkey - Russia and Kyiv - Ankara relations. In particular, Tezel focused on the fact that the Russia-annexed Crimea remains the homeland of the Crimean Tatars. With this respect Turkey adheres to a principle position:

“They should stay there. We have always raised this issue and will support it regardless our relations with Russia,” he said.
