MOSCOW (QHA) -

The world’s largest airline Delta terminates flights from the US to Russia. The resumption of flights is expected in spring 2017. The last direct flight Moscow - New York took off from Sheremetyevo on September 6 at 13:45.

Currently, the only direct carrier on the route from Moscow to New York City is "Aeroflot", according to RNS.
Another way to get to the United States from Russia is a transfer via Amsterdam and Paris.

Delta Airlines is not the first carrier to leave the Russian market. Last fall, the German airline Air Berlin terminated flights to Russia.

Earlier, the companies EasyJet and Thai Airways stopped operating in Russia due to declining demand. Lufthansa and Czech Airlines reduced the number of flights. The Ukrainian companies will enter this list starting from October 25.
