The watchtowers (17 meters high) are located directly on the administrative border, Maxim Soroka, Assistant Chief of the Azov-Black Sea Regional Directorate for cooperation with the media told a QHA correspondent.

“This has enabled us to significantly extend the range of observation of the adjacent territory, and monitoring of the situation between the Kherson region and temporarily occupied Crimea,” said the speaker of agency.

It was reported earlier that the Russian Defense Ministry initiated a surprise check of combat readiness of troops in Russia’s Southern Military District on February 8.
