On October 7, the United States Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker intends to meet with Vladislav Surkov, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, to discuss the situation in the Donbas, according to the message on Kurt Volker’s Twitter page
“Will meet Russian counterpart Oct 7 in Belgrade to discuss how to catalyze Minsk implementation and restore Ukraine's territorial integrity," he wrote.
Earlier QHA reported, that former US ambassador to Russia John Tefft informed that Volker's next meeting with the Russian representative on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas would take place in early October. Among the issues of the talks Tefft mentioned the introduction of UN peacekeepers in the Donbas.
Tefft further stressed that in case a particular progress achieved in the Donbas issue, the US will be able to lift some of the sanctions against Russia. However, he noted that this matter is not being considered yet.
