At a meeting held on Sunday, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden discussed reforms in Ukraine and fight against corruption.

“The vice president of the United States noted that only more efficient, tangible and faster reforms can be a prerequisite for the successful development of Ukraine. In particular, the reform of the judicial system. The international community are ready to help and support Ukraine, but the democratic world wants to see the dynamics of real changes,” Klitschko said. Biden said that despite other global challenges, Ukraine remains the focus of the United States and the priorities for the support of the Ukrainian people do not change," Klitschko said about the meeting, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported.

The meeting also addressed the efforts of Kyiv authorities to implement reforms in the capital city. The mayor noted the transparency of management processes that are introduced in the city, and pointed to the prevention of corruption schemes, which helped increase revenues in the capital city this year by 30%.

The U.S. vice president congratulated the mayor on the reform of the police, the procurement system in Kyiv, and also noted the importance of continuing the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
