The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a resolution on submitting of the bill on the abolition of parliamentary immunity and limitation of judges' immunity to the Constitutional Court to obtain expert conclusions”,- official web portal of Ukraine’s parliament informs.
365 MPs voted for the corresponding decision.
The bill No. 1776 on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on the immunity of members of Parliament of Ukraine and judges provides for excluding the provision on immunity guarantees from the Article 80 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
Under the Resolution, the bill on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (re immunity of people’s deputies of Ukraine and judges) is submitted to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to receive opinions on its compliance with articles 157 and 158 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
