US-introduced ban on flying to Simferopol and Dnepropetrovsk still in place

Ban on civil aviation flights to Dnepropetrovsk and Simferopol has been extended by US transportation agencies.

The U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration have extended a moratorium on US flights to Dnepropetrovsk and occupied Simferopol, reports TASS.

The ban, to be in place until October 27, 2016, will include all US airlines operating cargo and passenger flights, as well as private pilots holding US licenses, the only exception being foreign carriers.

It was reported earlier that the US government banned flights to occupied Crimea in April 2014. Ukraine announced ratifying a treaty with the USA on carrying passengers and cargoes .
