US Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States is on the verge of stopping the discussions on the settlement of the Syrian conflict, RIA Novosti reports.
“I think we are on the verge of suspending the discussion because, you know, it’s irrational in the context of the kind of bombing taking place (in Syria), to be sitting there, trying to take things seriously,” Kerry said in response to a question about the possibility of a second chance to the Russian Federation to implement the agreements of September 9.
The US Secretary of State also said that the situation has forced the United States to look for other alternatives in resolving the conflict.
Reuters has also reported that the United States intends to cease diplomatic agreements with Russia, a US official told the agency on condition of anonymity.
Such US actions are quite expected, after Russia resumed the bombing of the city of Aleppo in cooperation with the troops of Bashar al-Assad.
