WASHINGTON (QHA) -

The US intends to send special forces to Syria to "train, advise and assist" opposition forces in the fight against the “Islamic state”, reported CNN citing several American officials.

According to Reuters, close to 20 or 30 soldiers of the special forces will be involved. This information has been provided by an American official, speaking on condition of anonymity, while the second source confirmed the plans.

On the eve, the special forces in Syria held major ground operations. Now continued presence of US ground forces in Syria is expected.
