The United States is supporting Ukraine in the talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on reforms assistance, Victoria Nuland, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, said after the meeting with President Viсtor Yanukovych, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We have focused on our support to Ukraine in her further discussions with the International Monetary Fund on the implementation of the reforms in Ukraine," she noted.
Nuland thinks the reforms being carried in this country within the framework of the European integration and the talks with the IMF will also promote Ukrainian - US relations and cooperation.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov was optimistic about the consultations between the government officials in charge of finance and economy, the National Bank of Ukraine and the IMF mission.
The United States is ready to assist Ukraine in meeting the requirements for the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
