Signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will help bring new economic opportunities for the EU, which includes the Netherlands, believes Mark C. Toner, Deputy Spokesperson for the US Department of State.
“We support the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, because we believe it is in the interest of the United States, of the Netherlands, of the EU to help ensure that Ukraine becomes a democratic and economically stable country, Mark C. Toner said a t a press briefing.
According to Mark C. Tone, the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement can help foster that.
“We believe it will also help bring new economic opportunities for the EU, which includes the Netherlands, and for Ukraine,” Mark C. Toner said.
It was reported earlier that a poll taken after the April 6 referendum on signing a trade agreement between Ukraine and the Netherlands showed that 37,5% of the Dutch voted in favor of the agreement, while 61,7% rejected it. However, if the turnout at the referendum is found to be lower than 30% its results will be declared null and void.
