US Defense Department wants to move to a strategic level of cooperation with the Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, reported the MOU press service citing Ms. Elissa Slotkin, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, during a meeting in Kiev with Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.

According to Assistant Secretary, the United States hope for positive changes to take place in the processes of military reform and therefore are not going to stop providing support for the Ukrainian Army.
According to the MOU (Ukraine’s Defense Ministry), during the meeting the parties discussed the main directions of military reforms in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as assistance programs that the US government can render.
