Kyiv (QHA) - New U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt wants to meet with imprisoned Yulia Tymoshenko. He has said about this in an interview to the TV channel Ukraine, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty informs, according to Ukrinform.
The Ambassador said he would like to do what had already been done by Ambassador John Tefft, who together with his European counterpart went to Kharkiv and could meet with Mrs. Tymoshenko.
The U.S. Ambassador called treatment of former Ukrainian Premier in Germany as one of possible variants that are under discussion. But he said he leaves this issue to Cox and Kwasniewski and the Ukrainian government.
As reported by Ukrinform, Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction leader Arseniy Yatseniuk expressed hope that Yulia Tymoshenko will be permitted to go abroad for treatment.
