Russia’s ruling United Russia party is winning more than 70% of votes at Crimean Parliament elections, according to exit poll results announced on Sunday after polling stations were closed.
Along with United Russia, according to exit polls, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) and Communist Party (CPRF) are also winning seats in the State Council.
September 14 Crimea held its first Parliament election as a Russian territory since Crimean annexation by Russia in March.
September 14 is the single all-Russian voting day on which Russia sees about 6,000 local elections at different levels, including the elections of 30 out of 85 heads of Russian regions and 14 regional parliaments.
Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people, however, had called for a boycott of the vote.
