UN officials have detected four areas in Syria where a truce is negotiable, reports Reuters citing Ian Eliasson, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

“I don’t think the gap between the warring sides is unbridgeable,” said Eliasson.

According to the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, UN peacekeepers are not yet in Syria because the situation there has not reached a point requiring their presence there.
