The UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) is to host a conference "Indigenous Crimean Tatars: Strategies for Survival and Securing Rights," Ukraine’s Presidential Commissioner on the Affairs of the Crimean Tatar People wrote on Facebook.
- The event is to be held within the 15th session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, May 10 in New York. The constructive discussion is expected to be attended by the prominent Crimean Tatar and international experts, reads the report.
This year's forum is to be held on May, 9-20.
The Permanent Forum is an advisory body to the Economic and Social Council that raises issues of the indigenous people relating to economic and social development, culture, environment, education, health and human rights.
