Ilmi Umerov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, commented on the response of Putin's administration to the request of the lawyer Edem Semedlyaev asking to provide a decree by the president of the Russian Federation, which served the basis for Umerov’s pardon.
“Unfortunately, nothing cleared up. I still do not know on what basis I was "freed" or "forgiven", or "rehabilitated", or "exchanged", or "pardoned" ... We do not know if there is such a "decree" at all. Maybe it does not exist, and I'm considered to be on the run? And if it exists, why I was not familiarized with it?” Umerov wrote on his Facebook page.
Ilmi Umerov wondered why he and Akhtem Chiogoz were sent to Ankara and transferred to the Turkish special services by deception and without informing them.
“Why were we not left at home, in the Crimea? Does this mean that I will not be able to arrive in the Crimea? If I can not - on what basis? If I can - let me know about it. That's how many questions remain unanswered,” Umerov wrote.
The response received by the lawyer Edem Semedliaev reads:
"Your appeal to the administration of the President of the Russian Federation has been considered.
In accordance with subparagraph 3 of paragraph 4 of article 6 of the federal law of May 31, 2002, No. 63 of the Federal Law "On Advocacy in the Russian Federation", the provision of the information of interest to you is not possible."
Note that subparagraph 3 of the fourth paragraph of article 6.1. of the Federal Law of Russia "On Advocacy in the Russian Federation" indicates that a lawyer may be denied in providing information if "the requested information is classified under law on restricted information".
