Ilmi Umerov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, commented on the upcoming decision on the collaborationist position of Emirali Ablaev.
He said that a wide range of issues was discussed at the meeting.
"It may seem strange, perhaps, that Crimean Tatars discuss education and construction of schools, including those in Henichesk District, when Crimea is occupied and the war between Ukraine and Russia continues. But this is the destiny of the World Congress", said Ilmi Umerov.
However, the Deputy Chairman of Mejlis says that the Congress has not remained aloof from politics.
"An appeal of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars to the Mejlis was adopted with regard to further actions against Mufti of Crimean Muslims due to his collaborationist position," said Umerov.
