The Ukrainian Parliament has passed a law on the return to the Constitution of 2004. A total of 386 out of 450 MPs voted for the relevant law on Friday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The document was passed under simplified procedure without any decision of the relevant committee and was passed in the first and the second reading in one voting.
After the vote MPs stood up and sang the national anthem of Ukraine.
Parliament of Ukraine had also adopted the draft law № 2023 “On amendments to the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine regarding the implementation to national law of the UN article №19 on corruption.”
This document provides for the decriminalization of the article under which Ukrainian former Prime-Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was convicted.
